Historically, people learned how to naturally ferment foods to preserve them for storage
and use during the winter months when growing fresh foods was not possible. But, over time,
the health benefits became obvious, and have since been proven to be even more significant.
For this reason, consuming cultured foods strictly for their health benefits is quite common.
At Cultured Traditions, our goal is to reintroduce people to the wonderful world of naturally fermented foods, and the marvelous health benefits they provide.
All of our products are 100% raw, made using only the highest quality organic ingredients, using no whey or other starters. Our krauts wild ferment in their own natural juices (no added water or brine), and we use highly purified water for our Kvass and Jun.
We started out with 2 of the most popular staple cultured foods used for centuries in Russia - Sauerkraut (the two main Russian versions, white and red), and Beet Kvass - red, and golden (with ginger and turmeric). We have since added 4 delicious new flavors of sauerkraut, as well as a fermented drink similar to - and referred to by many as the Champagne of - Kombucha, called Jun. Like Kombucha, it is a fermented tea, but unlike Kombucha, it (ours) is made from (organic loose leaf) green tea, and more importantly, (pure, raw, local Georgia) honey, rather than black tea and sugar (which is what Kombucha is made from). We now have 8 varieties of Jun.
While we plan to introduce new items - and even variations on the more traditional items - from time to time, our focus will always be on quality, rather than quantity.
Also, since we have our own facility, we can guarantee that all of our products are 100% gluten, dairy and nut free.
